Ouranoupoli, the small atmospheric town that separates Mount Athos from the land of the worldly, living under the aura of special and traditional beauty. Its visitors fall in love with it and year after year they are an indispensable part of it.<\/p>

Below the Tower, in the harbour, boats depart daily to take pilgrims to Mount Athos and tourists on a cruise around the peninsula.<\/p>

Just outside the settlement, Moni Zygou, an ancient monastery, located right on the border, but also accessible to women. The representations, mosaics and exhibits give a picture of the monasteries of Mount Athos.Across from Ouranoupoli, a cluster of small exotic islands, Drenia, a favourite spot for tourists, is ideal for swimming, fishing and diving in turquoise waters, while next to them floats Ammouliani, the only inhabited island of Halkidiki. Captain's houses, taverns and magnificent beaches at every point, is the landmark of the maritime area.<\/p>
